Hi there! I’m Jayne Buchanan, a self-employed ADI delivering driving lessons & instruction in the Southport Area covering the Southport DVSA Test Centre. A few years ago I figured out that my skills in teaching people combined with my amazing levels of patience meant I was wasted in an Insurance office job and made the brave move to train up to become a fully qualified driving instructor. I was trained by Chris Kelly’s driving school and previously worked before going out on my own.
I am commended for my calmness and ability to explain things in a way that suits every learner – so much so some students ask if their partner or parent can come along and sit in the back to observe how to instruct without shouting or getting angry!

A recent survey by the AA found that driving schools are taking some learners for a ride by placing them with trainee instructors without their knowledge. The pass rate for trainees is far lower than for qualified instructors, leading to an extra 27,000 test failures a year.
